The Madness in the Jigwe Awards by Prince Owusuagyei

This trend bothers me and I’m hoping that as well we all discuss this issue, I may be settled in my heart about this matter.

On top is Rashida black beauty who just won an award for her video on kushman(it went viral)
Beneath is Karim Fathia, who swept away a record of 19 awards at the graduation of the medical school,KNUST (didn’t go viral)

My question is what values are we leaving our generation after us?. When I heard that Rashida has been awarded, I said ‘gosh’ so why did we complain about lord paper video which came out? I think as a nation, we are losing our values for something which is foreign all in the name of fame.
The lady on lord paper video received a big invitation for a movie premiere while ladies like Karim Fathia never get anything at all.The message is that it pays to do a n@ked video or any viral video than to be in school.
A few years ago we used to compete among ourselves for grades, best needle works, best athlete or best office girl or best girl in house hold chores. Now,it is about who can pose either half naked or do a crazy video to attract attention.
To the organizers I suggest that we rather help this young lady acquire skills to make her better and more valuable to herself and help her get out her emotional state which forced her to do the video to put that young man who broke her heart to shame instead of trying to glorify her actions.
Secondly the organizers should start inviting and celebrating young academics like Fathia to motivate our young people.
Finally I believe Ghana is not like US where Kim Kadarshian can become a star because of a sex tape.
Let us give our children good  examples to follow either you learn a skill with a swag or stay in school or join Kumahood and add your creativity to the industry or better still join the business men and women who are transforming Ghana.

10 Reasons why Most Ghanaians will Remain Poor for the Rest of their Lives

There are easy and quick-to-recognize signs that help us know if we are heading downward in our quest for financial upliftment.

Here are all the reasons why some Ghanaians will surely remain poor;

1. Lacking Financial Discipline

We know all the reasons why you will always remain poor

Most people do not realize that the only way to financially prosperity is discipline. It doesn’t matter how much you make from your job, if you are indiscipline with your finances you’ll also remain poor and even in-debt.

You should be able to save some parts of your salaries and income and discipline yourself on your spending. The 2008 economic meltdown for instance was as the result of financial indiscipline on the parts of bankers. Simply put, nobody will succeed and be rich if they’re financial indiscipline.

2. Learn New things

They say the only constant in life is change and that means that you should be ready to learn new things every day. It’s best to educate yourself on financial matters when the opportunity avails itself.

This will help you in the long run and you would not have struggle with money in the future. You should always remember that formal education will make you a living while self-education will make a fortune for you.

3. Giving Up Easily

Winners and the most successful people in life have one thing in common, they never quit. A lot of people do not have the mental capacity and dexterity to withstand pressure. If you are someone who gives up easily then you’re bound to live the rest of your life in the world of poverty.

Work with dedication and persistence so you may feel the exhilaration of victory.

4. Always Looking For Get-Rich Schemes

All that glitters is not gold and the earlier you take this advice, the better it’ll be for you. A lot of people have remained poor because of their own greed. Instead of working hard or investing their cash into reliable schemes, they’ll rather opt for get-rich-schemes which are mostly fallacious.

Others spend all their time on lottery and gambling, which only lead them to bankruptcy. There’s no way you’ll become rich if you continue these habits.

5. Blaming Others For Your Situation

Some people will never accept their wrong even if the evidence is plain for everyone to see. Blaming everyone around you except yourself for your troubles will only make matters worse.

Leave the witch, demons, family, bosses and government alone, rather learn from your mistakes and work hard in order to achieve your goals

6. Spending Time With The Wrong People

Psychologists say that a person is the average of the five people they spend the most time with which means if 5 of your very close friends are poor or lazy then you are the sixth lazy person. The Bible even says in Proverbs 13:20 that you are the company you keep, this means the people around you are a perfection description of who you are.

If you want to be rich spend time with hardworking, positive people or people who have made it in life. They’re practical lessons, motivations and the way they share in your dreams will help you become rich

7. Not Managing Your Fears

We know all the reasons why you will always remain poor

We all have fears and that’s a fact even though most of us act all brave and strong. But if you fail to manage your fears, you’ll find yourself remaining poor for the rest of your life.

You need to risk a lot if you want to become successful. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, two of the richest computer scientists in the world, quit school to start the companies they run now and this wouldn’t have happened if they gave into their fears.

8. Not Controlling Your Greed

Greedy people always end up poor and this because this unhealthy addiction does not allow you think straight and analyze issues concerning your finances and the needs of others.

Greedy people only care about themselves and what they need so in trying to get all that, they end up losing everything. It’s best to control your greed by setting up financial goals so you will know how much to invest in your dreams.

9. Not Having Big Goals

When you dream, dream big and it should be as big as the ocean. The government does not tax or arrest anyone for dreaming, so do it big. You must have goals that are big enough to scare you especially if you want to become rich. Don’t stay within you comfort zones because nothing great ever grows in that zone.

If you want big things to happen in your life, then pursue goals that seem impossible to achieve. In testing your limits, you’ll discover that you’re capable of more things that you thought you couldn’t do

10. Lacking Focus

You can’t succeed in life if you don’t have focus and that’s the bitter reality. Going through life without a goal or a sense of purpose, is technically like committing suicide. Behind every great success story is a focus man or woman who wasn’t fazed by their surroundings and persevered till they achieved what the want.

Some call it an insatiable hunger for success and without focus you’ll continue being poor.

My Girlfriend Donated Her Kidney To Save Me, But I’m No Longer In Love With Her Anymore, What Do I Do?

The man shared his story showing just how he has been caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Below is what he wrote:

I am 32 years old and my girlfriend is 31 years old. We’ve been together for 5 years and now live together in a nice house.

Sometime ago, I had serious medical problems and she gave me one of her kidneys to save my life.

However, things have been slowly fizzling out and I’ve been feeling like we don’t belong together for a few months now. I feel like if I don’t make a decision soon we will be married and I will feel this way forever.

But on the other hand, getting a kidney transplant has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I feel like staying together is the right thing to do even if I’m not in love anymore.

I’ll never be able to pay her back. I’m so torn and conflicted and feel like I have to make an impossible choice.

If I stay with her, I’ll always feel trapped and in a loveless relationship. If I break up with her, I’ll forever feel like an evil person for dumping someone who literally put their life on the line for me.

See How Ghanaian Politicians Spend their Stolen Money

Have you for once imagined how Ghanaian politicians spend their stolen money? Check this one out:

1) When they loot money, they keep it in Switzerland.

2) When sick, they go to Germany.

3) When investing, they go to America.

4) When buying Mansions, they visit London.

5) When shopping, they go to Dubai.

6)When on holidays, they visit Paris or Bahamas.

7) When educating their children, they select Europe.

8) When praying, they go to Saudi Arabia or

9) BUT,when they DIE, they all want to be

Please, help me ask them, Ghana NA CEMETERY?

The Day after Sarkodie was Slapped

Yesterday was the day the world saw how insecured the self acclaimed king was. It was obvious he just couldn’t think correct. He don think madness as Liwin will put it. Many did have lots of respect for him until he released one of the wackest tracks for the year.

I just don’t get it. How can you diss someone for putting on GTP? I myself can’t think correct on that as well.  Hahaha! Do have a look at this;

You put on rags whiles you go about to insult someone who has proper African print on. That so called punchline of yours was indeed below the belt.

Let’s decipher the next point. How can you insult someone for being intellectually good? When all that you need is this:

There is no doubt about that it since it appears the main one will make your head spin with words like “b*tch” and “pro bon” which you don’t understand. Many are now advocating for you to go to school small or better still make reading your habit.

Go to school small ah you no go go—read books too, you no go read. You don’t even know FREE and PRO BONO are literally the same.

And folks say what, he murdered intellect? Yoo we hear you.

This is like Bishop Obinim debating Lawrence Krauss—on something out of nothing- Chris

It appears the next the self acclaimed sees the smaller godMC, he is likely to cry again. We do hope the slap from the godMC will land you well and that will encourage you to at least learn some valuable lessons that bragging isn’t the same as rapping with some intellectual wisdom.

Why You Should Not Marry These Women: Nurses, Police Women, Lawyers, TV Anchors & Politicians

When it comes to good wives, there are careers you should not consider marrying women from. There are shocking reasons why police women, TV news anchors, nurses, lawyers and politicians don’t make good wives.

A police woman carries so much power that when her husband tries to raise a hand, he is told..”Unless you want to rot in jail”.
It is very hard to tame a police woman, unless you have some authority that can neutralize her powers.
Another obvious reason what these women don’t make good wives is the fact that they are rarely at home to cook for the husband. Just when you are about to sleep, a phone call rings, demanding that she must report on duty. And when you are about to settle in a city, your wife is transferred to hardship areas.

Nursing profession is a calling, just like NUNS. These people always attend to patients in critical conditions as well as stable conditions. The psychological torture they go through make them lose interest in bedroom matters, which is why they are cold in bed.

It is also reported that Nurses, on duty, befriend doctors. So-when the husband is warming the bed alone, the nurse is warming a room in hospital alongside her “lover”, doctor. Sometimes-I have witnessed before-some nurses sleep with patients.
——– LAWYERS———

Lawyers are powerful people in society. If you want to lose your home, property, your children and even your entire life, marry a female lawyer. If your wife is an activist, chances of leading a miserable life are very high.
One interesting thing about female lawyers is that they understand law very well; they can easily manipulate you when buying property or making any investment.
One common character about lawyers is that they are used to handling cases, so even when the husband tries to discipline her, he will be reminded that courts exist. A man will, therefore, be left living like a slave.

These are the worst people to marry.TV presenters are extremely beautiful, and since they appear on screens daily, chances of catching the eye of the high and mighty are high. You know one thing with women, they can’t resist power and a wealthy person approaches her, even if she is married, chances of her accepting the advances are almost 100 %.
The poor husband will be left dying of depression as a wealthy man elope with his wife.
You can only manage these girls if you have power and money.

Women politicians are all over. It is very hard to find a female politician who is happily married and faithful-if she is faithful then there is something wrong with her.
These politicians are also law makers, so chances of intimidating husbands are very high

HIV & Me:Survival, Overcoming & Living a Meaningful Life By Tom Ufert

HIV & Me:  Survival, Overcoming & Living a Meaningful Life

By Tom Ufert

I want readers to come away from this article with three important reactions:

  • You Are Not Alone
  • You Will Survive
  • Your Adversity Gives Hope To Others

I approached after reading Celebrities with HIV to offer my story as another case study of surviving HIV with dignity and promise for the future.  Now I must admit that in no way do I consider myself a “celebrity” in the commonly accepted sense.  Tom Ufert isn’t a star athlete, pop movie or music icon or even a well-known figure.  However, as a declared 2016 U.S. Presidential candidate there is some degree of respected notoriety that demands I speak out on the subject of HIV.

Since 1992 I have lived with three different life altering disabilities:  Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an incomplete spinal fracture and HIV.  On Memorial Day (May 25th 2015) I declared my Independent candidacy for the American presidency.  From the beginning I was open and honest about my physical challenges, especially HIV.  My goal was to demonstrate that none of these or the stigmas that are commonly associated with being “crippled” could discourage me or for that matter, should impede anyone from living a meaningful life of purpose.

Everyone who knows me will testify that these adversities do not define me.  On the contrary they strengthen me!  My first book, Adversity Builds Character, says it all.  I wrote “Life is as life is.  You either accept it or change it, but sitting around complaining about it doesn’t do anyone any good—especially you!”  (  To be honest my positive attitude didn’t come easily and I can only credit this transformation as one of divine inspiration.  God has always been by my side, though my life is proof that I strayed from His love and guidance.  That fact is something I’m sure many of us can relate to.  The point is that despite my own failures, there was a higher purpose meant for my life.

Regardless of your life circumstances I want you to know that HIV isn’t the end.  I’m living proof that the human spirit can overcome just about any adversity.  It all depends on your attitude and perspective.  Do you really care about your family, friends and loved ones?  Do you really care about your community?  Do you really care about the world you live in and your fellow human beings?  PROOVE IT!  HIV is an opportunity to show that your life has meaning!  HIV is YOUR opportunity to show the world and your fellow man that YOU STAND FOR SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF!

Life is hard.  Giving up and giving in betrays the natural human instinct to survive.  Just think of every person in your life that you’ve touched and have touched you.  Then multiply that number by how many years you are expected to live.  I have survived 24 years with HIV and am projected to live a full life expectancy.  I challenge each of you to add another 24 years to your age right now.  Then multiply that by the number of people who you’ve encountered and calculate the direct impact you will have in the world today.  Isn’t that promise of positive change worth living for?

As you can see from the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics at the right you’re not alone in this fight to live a full and purposeful life.  With advances in treatment and prescription medicines your chances of living with and surviving HIV have dramatically improved.  In 2011 pop music icon/AIDS activist Bono of internationally acclaimed rock band U2 set about a worldwide media tour to promote astounding news—“The Beginning Of The End Of AIDS”

In 2003 only a few hundred thousand people outside of the U.S. were being treated for AIDS/HIV.  By 2011 that number had increased to 6 million globally.  By mid-2015 that number had increased to 15.8 million.  Increased dissemination of life saving retro-viral medications, increased educational outreach and medical assistance programs that help with male circumcision or HIV detection testing throughout Africa have given worldwide activists like Bono the hope to say “We can now see the first stages of an AIDS free generation.” (Sources: &

You Will Survive!

Trust me. I know all too well that being diagnosed with HIV seems like a death sentence.  After being diagnosed with MS in August 1992 and then suffering an incomplete spinal fracture from a car accident on September 28th 1992 it might have seemed like my life was over.  However, it wasn’t until a diagnosis of HIV one month later in October of 1992 that real depression set in.  Now I realize that my circumstances, living in the United States where medical treatment and medicines are certainly more easily available, are a far cry from those struggling in other countries.  However, one’s personal outlook and mental attitude are the primary sources of conquering every adversity.  If I can do it so can you!  You have to have hope, faith in a higher purpose and believe in yourself.

As this article so aptly demonstrates, in today’s world with the internet and a vast global assistance community of Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) help is there.  Worldwide attention on how AIDS/HIV has scourged the African continent’s population has significantly increased your opportunities for living a long productive life.  The very week I contacted Kojokrom about the blog article, their website had received 80,000 visitors from just the United States.   YOU MUST NOT GIVE UP HOPE!

Your Adversity Gives Hope to Others!

Now Kojokrom initiated this blog and highlighted the hopeful promise for others in a large part because they lost two family members to this terrible affliction.  Thirty-five years after the first diagnosed cases of AIDS/HIV and nearly 40 million funerals later there is hope.  Patients like me are living longer and the annual fatalities have dropped dramatically.  Yet this global plague is far from over.  That’s where you and I can play a major part towards the end of this human tragedy.

As I write this article preparations are already underway for me to travel to nearby Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Throughout the year I and literally thousands of my friends/colleagues regularly come together to raise funds for local AIDS charities throughout North America.  As the ONLY U.S. Presidential candidate afflicted with HIV and openly championing causes to help others with AIDS/HIV I’m doing my part to use my voice and live a meaningful life of purpose.  What Are You Doing?

We live in a time when EVERY VOICE COUNTS!  If you are unfortunate to be afflicted by this gruesome global plague or have been directly impacted by the loss of a loved one/friend struck down by AIDS/HIV I send you my sincere and heartfelt thoughts and prayers.  For the sake of today’s victims far worse off than ourselves and future generations throughout the world, sitting on the sidelines as casual observers is not an option!

Those of us infected with HIV have to ask ourselves SHALL WE PLAY THE ROLE OF VICTIM OR ADVOCATE?  Long ago my “adopted” family taught me that the greatest way to face my own troubles was to help others.  In essence that is the greatest virtue taught by every religion on earth—charity towards our brothers and sisters.  I know that doing for others is tough when your own life is so hard beset with illness and grief.  I’ve been there my friends.  From the very depths of my heart and soul I tell you this—your down trodden spirit will know no greater cure than the tears of gratitude that flow incessantly from one in need you’ve helped despite your own suffering.
