Rashford Signs New Man Utd Deal Worth £20,000-per-week

Manchester United’s 18-year-old striker Marcus Rashford has signed a new deal which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2020.

He scored twice on his first-team debut against Midtjylland in February and finished the season with eight goals in 18 appearances.

Rashford was selected in England’s 26-man squad for Euro 2016 and scored on his debut against Australia on Friday.

“I am grateful for having the chance to prove myself,” he said.

“To be able to play football at the biggest club in the world means everything to me and my family.”

Rashford’s new contract is thought to be worth £20,000 a week.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: “He is still very young and we need to be patient, but he is developing in the right way and we believe he has a great future ahead of him.”

Defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, 19, who like his team-mate had a year left on his deal, also signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2020.

There is an option to extend both deals – announced three days after new manager Jose Mourinho joined United on a three-year contract – by a further year.

After scoring twice on his United debut in the Europa League, Rashford repeated the feat in his first Premier League game three days later.

He also found the net just 138 seconds into his first senior international appearance, making him the youngest player to score on his England debut.

The teenager was represented in negotiations by family members, with advice from Chris and Wayne Welbeck, brothers of former United forward Danny, who now plays for Arsenal.

Photos: Boy with Upside-Down-Head gets Life-Changing Surgery

A 13-year-old boy who was left an outcast in his village in India because his head hung upside down has risked life changing surgery to straighten his neck, it has been reported.

Mahendra Ahirwar suffers from a rare condition called congenital myopathy

The boy, Mahendra Ahirwar, suffered from a rare condition called congenital myopathy which made the muscles in his neck so weak that his head would hang at a 180-degree angle, according to a report by Dailymail.co.uk.

The boy’s parents are said to have spent years taking him to see doctors, but a solution could not be found to his condition.

He had surgery to correct the condition after Julie Jones, from Liverpool, (right) set up a crowd-funding page which raised the £12,000 needed for treatment

Mahendra Ahirwar’s condtion is said to have been so problematic that he had to rely on his mother to feed him, bathe him and dress him.

The condition also prevented him from going to school.

That is set to change, however, after  Julie Jones, a mother of two based in Liverpool, UK, heard about his plight and set up a crowd-funding page, which raised £12,000 for his treatment.

The teenager has now undergone life-changing surgery by a former NHS surgeon, Dr Rajagopalan Krishnan, from Apollo Hospital, in Delhi.

In the surgery, which is said to have taken 10 hours, Dr Krishnan and his team opened up the front part of his neck – leaving the front of his cervical spine completely exposed – because of his extraordinarily thin skin.

Julie Jones, 35, poses for a picture with Dr Rajagopalan Krishnan, a senior consultant and spinal surgeon, at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India where Mahendra had the life-changing surgery

They then removed the disks from his neck, and replaced them with bone graft from his pelvis and then fitted a metal plate to secure the neck straight.

Julie Jones, who facilitated the surgery, reportedly said that she was moved after reading Mahendra Ahirwar’s tragic plight that she decided to help.

‘It was tragic. All I could think about was my own son and how I’d feel if he was in that situation,’ she said, according to the report.

66 People Perish in Plane Crash

An EgyptAir flight reported missing between Paris and Cairo has crashed, French President Francois Hollande confirmed.

The Airbus A320 with 66 people on board disappeared from radar at 02:30 Cairo time (00:30 GMT), soon after leaving Greek airspace.

Greece’s defence minister says Flight MS804 made “sharp turns” and plunged before dropping off the radar.

A major search is under way in seas south of the Greek island of Karpathos.

Greek and Egyptian armed forces are involved in the effort, and France has offered to send boats and planes.

Mr Hollande said he was keeping an open mind about the cause of the crash.

“We will draw conclusions when we have the truth about what happened,” he said.

“Whether it was an accident, or whether it was – and it’s something that is on our minds – terrorism.”

There were 56 passengers – including three children – seven crew members and three security personnel on board. They included 30 Egyptians, 15 French citizens and a Briton.

Flight MS804 left Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris at 23:09 local time on Wednesday (21:09 GMT) and was scheduled to arrive in the Egyptian capital soon after 03:15 local time on Thursday.

EgyptAir said the plane had been flying at 11,300m (37,000ft) when it disappeared from radar shortly after entering Egyptian airspace.

Aviation officials in Greece said earlier that air traffic controllers had spoken to the pilot a few minutes earlier and everything had appeared normal.

But Greece’s Defence Minister Panos Kammenos told a news conference that soon after entering Egyptian airspace, the plane had turned “90 degrees left and 360 degrees to the right” before plunging.

There was some earlier confusion over whether a distress signal had been sent by the plane.

Egypt’s state-run newspaper al-Ahram quoted an EgyptAir statement as saying the Egyptian army’s rescue and search had received a distress call from the plane at 04:26 local time – which would be around two hours after the flight disappeared.

But Egypt’s military subsequently said that no such signal had been received.

Some of the relatives of those on board gathered at airports in Cairo and Paris to wait for news.

Mr Hollande had earlier spoken to his Egyptian counterpart and both leaders were holding emergency meetings with their top officials, according to reports from both countries.

Flightradar24 listed details of the plane’s journey on Wednesday which showed it had flown from Asmara, in Eritrea, to Cairo, then on to Tunis, in Tunisia, before heading, via Cairo, to Paris.

Aviation analyst Alex Macheras told the BBC that Airbus A320s were regularly used for short-haul budget flights and had “an amazing safety record”.

In March, an EgyptAir plane was hijacked and diverted to Cyprus. The attacker later surrendered and all hostages were released.

The Youngest King in the World

King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi is the youngest ruling monarch in the world. At  3 and-a-half-year-old he ascended the royal dais to become the undisputed titular head of the 180-year Toro Kingdom. He is the youngest ruling monarch worldwide. In the Guinness Book of records, he took the spot of youngest king from Mswati III of Swaziland who was crowned king when he was 18.

This September 12, 2016 will mark 21 years since the youngest monarch in the world,  ascended to the throne following the death of his father Patrick Olimi Kaboyo in 1995.

He holds an annual event known as “Empango” usually thronged by the king’s subjects from the 3.5 million strong Toro tribe whose kingdom is centered in the pristine town of Fort Portal locally known as Kabarole in Western Uganda.

The event is marked by prayers led by the representative of the Seventh Day Adventist in Uganda. The event will normally have a theme yet to published.

Rukirabasaija (meaning greatest of all men) ascended the throne on September 12, 1995, a week after the passing of his father king Patrick Olimi Kaboyo, to become the 12th king of the 185-year-old kingdom.

At only 3 years of age, this meant that the toddler king had to wait until he turned 18, leaving 3 regents to oversee his growth and the cultural affairs of the kingdom. These included Queen Best (the Queen Mother); his aunt/godmother, Princess Elizabeth Bagaya; and President Museveni.

The late Colonel Muamar Gaddafi of Libya, who had funded the re-construction of the king’s palace in his grandiloquent scheme of uniting kingdoms in Africa, was made patron and later defender of the kingdom.

The Kingdom is ruled by the Babiito dynasty, whose history dates as far back as the 14th century. According to oral history, Prince Olimi Kaboyo Kasunsunkwanzi, son of the King of Bunyoro, annexed the southern part of his father’s kingdom in 1822 and founded what is known as Toro today.

The post card town of Fort Portal is reputed as the cleanest town in the country with pristine meadows, tea estates, scenic crater lakes, Kibale Forest National Park, and the snowcapped “Mountains of The Moon” in the backdrop.

Uganda remains a republic, although since pre-colonial times, the former British Protectorate was ruled by sovereigns and loose chiefdoms whose role is now limited to cultural as enshrined in the 1995 constitution of The Republic of Uganda.

King Oyo is a 2013 graduate from University of Winchester, UK.

Mahama with Power Bank even Whiles in UK

If the poultry farmer is a vegetarian, then we all need to think twice. The first gentleman of the land was seen last Wednesday at a meeting with major head of states in the world and interestingly, his phone was connected to a power bank.

I do believe he thinks he is in Ghana where he made Dumsor to prevail for more than three years. Some comments even suggest that power crisis (dumsor) made him charge this phone during the crucial summit.

Nana Sarpong Agyemang Badu in his Facebook accompanied the photo with the caption “More anti-corruption analysis oo, So JDM [John Dramani Mahama] is the only one using a power bank, has some tea in his cup and the only one whose cup is not on a saucer… fantastically different..#MaCoolDown.”

Another Twitter user also captioned the photo “Is that a power bank ?? why dumsor dey uk anaaa…John mahama abr3”
